Summary Oppose:
Marijuana is often looked at as something that is just to get a person high or simply as a mind altering drug. It looks often dried up and mostly resmbles like oregano or other dried herbs. Mostly marijuana is mainly used to get high for users and that it has harmful affects on the body and the brain. Such as, for the brain, the persons judgment system wil be affected and will not care about the coices that they make. In other words its like alcohol, when the person gets drunk, their decision making or choices in the brain get shut down and will start to make bad choices. But with marijuana the THC  (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main ingrediant that makes people high) changes the information in the brain get processed and will damage the person's ability to learn and memorize. As for the body, marijuana can slow the movement or the reactions of the body down, and dilated pupils. Also some of these affects on the body and the brain may be long-term affects as well. That is why marijuana is bad for the body and is illegal.

When people hear the word marijuana people immediatley think its a drug that is harmful and should be avoided at all cause. But there are studies that show there are some benefits for health with medical marijuana. Such as some women have smoked medical marijuana for morning sickness, and some smoked to help with cancer in chemotherapy. Many doctors are afraid the use of medical marijuana becasue there is such a high opposition for the use of it. But about 94 percent of patients in a study in Colorado "say they use medical marijuana for severe pain; muscle spasms account for the second-most reported condition at 21 percent. Other conditions include cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, seizures and severe nausea. Patients can report more than one condition." Even this isn't enough to legalize medical marijuana becase there are always doubts about the medical benefits of medical marijuana, while so many people have used it so many times for their own health issues. Which is why medical marijuana should be legalized for further study to help others beneficially for medical use.
